Wireless earbuds have been the talk of the decade since Apple introduced its AirPods back in 2016. Now it’s the start of a new decade and wireless earbuds are one of the most technologically used devices. All the other lead companies have also introduced their own specific set of wireless earbuds, from Samsung to Xiaomi. There exist two types of earbuds in this wireless era.
Wireless and true wireless. Both of them have a huge difference between them. Let’s get into a bit of detail of what it actually is. Wireless Earbuds This set of earbuds refers to headphones that don’t have a connecting wire to any source but actually have a wire connected between the pair. Cutting the cord from earbuds to source.
Wireless earbuds were divided into categories which included; over the neck, on-ear and over the ear. Each provided their own level of interest and their own set of functionalities. These were a success until Apple decided to introduce the first true wireless earbuds The Apple Air Pods back in 2016.
True Wireless Earbuds There exist two types of earbuds in this wireless era. Wireless and true wireless. Both of them have a huge difference between them. Let’s get into a bit of detail of what it actually is.These are similar to simple wireless earbuds the major difference is that they also don’t have a connecting wire between the pair. Apple made the decision to completely remove the cord from these set of wireless earbuds.
Now, since we are here to talk about battery life then let’s move towards it. Battery life wasn’t the best aspect of wireless earbuds. Because it is impossible to include big batteries into such small devices. There is a difference between the battery life of wireless and true wireless earbuds.
As discussed, there are different types of wireless earbuds and they are bigger in size. They seem to have much greater battery life ranging from 10 to 20 hours depending upon material quality embedded by brand. The bigger the brand name the better the battery life because well, quality over quantity.
Whereas, the size of wireless earbuds is small. Therefore, it was difficult to embed bigger batteries into them. They come with battery life ranging between 3 to 4 hours. Since it was impossible to include big batteries into such small devices. The manufacturers came up with the solution to provide charging cases.
This gamble turned out to be successfully extending the total battery life of the wireless earbuds itself. These charging cases come with a battery life of 8 to 10 hours but have a great standby time allowing you to use your earbuds for days.
And there you have it! That is how the battery is dealt with and embedded in earbuds nowadays. But it is expected in the near future that even smaller batteries will be to provide greater power.
